3-Sci interviewed for Fusion Industry Programme

Senior 3-Sci physicist Stephanie King recently participated in an interview with Lyndsey Mooring, Head of Secure Research and the Fusion Industry Programme at UK Atomic Energy Authority, discussing the company’s involvement in fusion energy technology.

As a sensor technology development business specialising in extreme environments, 3-Sci has leveraged its extensive experience with Wi-Corr® corrosion monitoring systems, which are deployed on petrochemical assets worldwide. Building on this proven track record of maturing R&D concepts into commercial asset monitoring products, the company has now entered the fusion energy sector.

3-Sci has developed xtrEMsense®, a new family of sensors designed for temperature and magnetic field monitoring in fusion environments, capable of operating close to the plasma. This development forms part of the company’s collaboration with the Fusion Industry Programme at UK Atomic Energy Authority.

The interview covers 3-Sci’s heritage as a sensor development company, the company’s involvement in the Fusion Industry Programme, and the successful development of the xtrEMsense® sensor family for fusion applications.
